Can GoMechanic handle modification along with repairs?

We can handle repairs on cars that already have modifications, and we can also do certain upgrades depending on what you’re asking for. Here’s the thing though. Not every mod is a good idea for every car. We’ll usually suggest what’s safe, what’s practical, and what might create problems later.
Do you provide custom paint jobs after body repairs?

Yes, custom paint can be done after body repair, but it depends on the colour, finish, and the scope of the job. The benefit is we don’t just fix the dent, we give it a proper finish, so the car doesn’t look patched. We also focus on proper prep, because paint quality is decided before paint is applied.
Can GoMechanic fabricate custom body panels or bumpers?

In most cases, we stick to OEM or OEM-grade replacement parts because they fit better and stay safer. Custom fabrication is more specialised and depends on the design and material. If it’s feasible, it’s handled case by case, because bad fabrication creates alignment issues and weak mounting points.
Do you offer ECU remapping or tuning for better performance?

This depends on the car and the type of tuning. ECU remaps can improve performance, but they also increase load and can affect fuel economy, reliability, and sometimes warranty. So we don’t treat it like a quick add-on. If it’s an option, it should be done with clear trade-offs, not hype.
How long does a custom repair take?

It depends on what “custom” means. Small custom work can be quick, but paint, fabrication, or part sourcing can extend timelines. We usually avoid giving false speed promises because quality work needs curing time, proper fitting, and rechecks. The goal is the car leaving right, not leaving fast.
Can you inspect a modified car properly?

Yes. We still inspect the core mechanical and safety areas: brakes, tyres, suspension, steering, cooling, battery, leaks, and electricals. Mods don’t stop inspection, but we judge the car based on what’s fitted and how it’s behaving, not how a stock version should behave.
Will modifications affect my inspection report?

They can, because modifications change how parts wear and how the system responds. If ride height, exhaust, intake, or electronics are altered, it can show up in tyre wear, suspension stress, or fault codes. The report will mention what’s relevant so you understand the impact clearly.
Do you check for accident damage even if the car looks repaired well?

Yes. A clean exterior doesn’t mean a clean history. We look for repainting signs, panel gap mismatch, underbody marks, and other clues that suggest past impact, even if the car has been polished up for sale.
Can I book an engine scan only, without a full inspection?

Yes. If your main concern is a warning light, rough running, or a performance drop, engine scanning is a focused option. It helps identify error codes and early faults so you’re not guessing what’s going on.
